At the heart of the formula, a biomimetic and zero-waste active ingredient derived from the valorization of black spruce bark waste protects and enhances color. It limits discoloration after UV exposure and after washing. What is a biomimetic active ingredient? It's an active ingredient inspired by the protective sheath of bark to protect hair and thus help maintain color. What is a zero-waste/co-product active ingredient? A co-product or zero-waste ingredient is made from materials that would otherwise be thrown away. These materials are thus valorized to develop new active ingredients or new sensory materials that we can use in our products. That's upcycling: giving a second life!
