How do Effective Micro-organisms (EM®) work?

The grey beads contain a mixture of Effective Micro-organisms (EM®) embedded within the clay during anaerobic firing at over 1,200°C. This Japanese-developed technology energises the water, reduces water molecule clusters and prevents oxidation. The water thus regains its natural hydrating properties and a neutral, refreshing taste.

Dosage and usage advice for your pack of 80 beads

With this complete set of 80 units, you can distribute the beads according to your daily needs:

• Water jug, bottle or flask (1L to 1.5L): Place 10 to 15 beads in the container. Leave to work for at least 30 minutes on first use.
• Kettle & coffee maker: Place 10 to 15 beads directly into the water tank to minimise limescale build-up and extend the lifespan of your appliances.
• Washing machine & dishwasher: Place 20 to 30 beads in a fabric pouch or directly into the cutlery tray to soften the wash water and reduce the use of limescale removers.
• Vegetable drawer / Fridge: Place 10 beads to keep your fruit and vegetables fresher for longer by reducing mould growth.

Caring for ceramic beads

Caring for them is extremely simple: rinse your beads under clean running water once a month. If a limescale deposit appears on the surface, you can boil them for 10 minutes in water with a little white vinegar or lemon juice to unblock the pores of the clay, then leave them to dry.
