From the same family as citronella and lemongrass, palmarosa has a very distinct scent, more reminiscent of geranium or rose than lemon. Rather persistent, it is widely used in the perfume and cosmetics industry where, sometimes, it was used to dilute rose essential oil, which was too expensive, because its fragrance is similar.
